Do you believe in magic? It reappeared when I set foot in Slovenia, Lake Bled. Always when I visit a new place I prepare myself with information about where I am going and what to visit. This time I was really without a plan and I was speechless in front of the beauty of this place. I gave myself completely to him. That’s what I call it – natural magic. “…. and the lake shines in a special way different from the others. In the morning – blue silk, at noon golden as the sun. “
So … we traveled from Bulgaria to Germany. We had a plan on the way to visit Slovenia and specifically the city of Bled. We arrived in the early afternoon. The city is nestled at the foot of the beautiful Alps, about 50 km from Ljubljana and really attracts thousands of tourists who come to enjoy the fresh air and beautiful nature. Arriving in Brad, I got the feeling that I was in the land of fairy tales. Every fairy tale touches our hearts – with adventures, magic, emotions and surprises around every corner. I couldn’t wait to settle in and start walking and exploring this remarkable place. Small streets, beautiful and flower-filled houses, countless apple trees full of fruit, kind and smiling hosts – everything was charming. We walked and admired the views. And yes! The lake … We are surrounded by one of the warmest alpine lakes in the world with a small island in it, resembling a tear and the medieval castle Bled. And this is not only the smallest, but also the only island in Slovenia.
The sun was mercilessly illuminating the lake, but still a light breeze was blowing and we definitely felt great. We walked along the lake alleys, surrounded by beautiful flowers, bushes and grassy meadows. And the majestic Alps watched us from above and watched our every step. At the same time, I was engrossed in the beauty all around me, but I was also a little scared. It is rare to see such a fabulous picture in which you yourself are the main participant. The fish swam freely in the pond and performed their free program with jumps and pirouettes. Now as I write, I smile again because the view was truly unique. The emotions experienced are still fresh and exciting, and the pictures we saw still fill my eyes and charge me.
Anyone who wishes can take a tour of the lake – by bike, on foot or by boat. About 6-7 km. The hotel told us that the walk takes about two hours. There are many benches on which one can sit. If you decide to go for a walk on the water, there are two options – the boats “knit” for group tours to the island, or a small boat to row alone. The choice is yours! All you have to do is climb one of the neighboring hills and look at the lake from above. Although our weather was sunny and pleasant, we did not and extremely sorry for that. But nothing – because there will definitely be a second time. Then you will also visit the castle and the beautiful church on the island. Here! I already have a plan for spring!
And a little for gourmet tourists … The evenings by the lake are quiet and peaceful. Our hotel recommended several places for dinner and we stopped at one of them. With a table on the terrace, overlooking the lake – not to be missed. The food was more than excellent, the service at an extremely high level. The intoxication I could not tell from whether the beauty around me was consuming me or from such a delicious and fragrant wine, which I drank with such pleasure.
If you need to escape somewhere, go to Slovenia, or more precisely to Bled. To enjoy the beauty of the city and the lake that bears the same name, take more than a day. It is definitely not enough. True, this is a very popular tourist destination, but not to be missed. Until a few weeks ago, I had not heard of this magical corner of nature, but once I was there, I can’t wait to visit it again.
