Said, done…
Saturday morning, loaded with positive mood got into the car and drove from Nuremberg Germany Pilsen Czech Republic. Definitely distance was not a problem as the miles were about 280 German roads are not that bad, but the lack of border crossings further helped quickly and easily get to the town of Pilsner Urquell. Only addition: nice entry into the Czech Republic to buy vignette :). We almost missed this detail, intoxicated by emotion. Most – cheapest is about 30 BGN and for a week.
Passing through the outskirts of town we noticed that plants and logistics centers Daikin, Skoda and Panasonic are in the area. We understood that Pilsen is a center of heavy industry. After much wandering and scratching around navigation systems found where smooth and free to park the car and walk around the city – parking lot of the supermarket TESCO. Definitely was not the most – the central point of the city, but it was not far away. Starting to the main square of us fell slightly worried that the weather would not be in tune with the mood – sunny and clear, but the decision was made: today is the day of Pilsen.
To get to downtown, we passed through the beautiful riverside garden. There we found a secluded couples indulging in feelings; chasing kittens; wedding photo shoots and a very few drinks gentleman dozing on a bench deep shade of lovely trees of the park. Passing through this so relaxing “picture of emotions” came to an extremely beautiful Renaissance square of Pilsen. There stood the Cathedral of St. Bartholomew. It is so typical for the area Gothic style and was built along with the city in 1295g.It was originally a church, but became a cathedral in 1993 when he created Pilsen diocese. Its tower (102.26 m) is the highest in the Czech Republic. Because I am extremely afraid of heights could not get to look from above the area, but I was told that opens extraordinary views. On the town square are visible three gilded fountain that never managed to learn something more. They were beautiful, but somehow failed to fit into my picture and idea of the city center. For a short period I drifted and imagined how people have fun here in the summer jazz festival, which is held annually in and out of a screening of interesting movie during the film festival in the fall.
