Vienna is a place that must be visited and felt deeply. Composers, artists, politicians …. – has a lot to learn and awaken your curiosity about this so fascinating, strict city. I read somewhere that Vienna is so old village as Rome. I plan to visit the sights, but did not get it as I had planned …. and – well J I was able to ride the Ferris and so glorified subway because luckily for us we managed to find the perfect place to park our car. Outside the downtown parking lots P + R / Park & Ride /. Cheaper and with access to Metro. Great! I was very positively surprised by the extraordinary urban infrastructure and hard work and strategic thinking that is supposed to make over the years people to create in this kind of this brilliant and cultured place. Going by subway in downtown appeared before me exclusive Sv.Karl Church (Karlskirche).Wonderful baroque creation, making you relax and enjoy the greatness that opens before you. Young couples seated around fountains, enjoying favors his; Japanese tourists with big cameras shoot all around them – the day was perfect! Our next stop was the Opera and Belvedere Palace. One of my dreams as a child was to wear formal dress to attend the Vienna Opera. Unfortunately our time is pressing and I only see her, but not her to enjoy “Don Giovanni” by Mozart. It is well known that Vienna is famous as the “City of Music”. I told myself that next time you have to leave something. And those six hours that left us definitely would not be enough for all the splendor of this fast paced degrees C headed to museums twins. I wanted to see them because I was talking to them. It was worth it. These were the Museum of Fine Arts and Natural History Museum. We did not have time to go into them and look at the preserved works by Raphael, Velasquez, Michelangelo, as well as skeletons of dinosaurs, etc. We shot fast and fresh tempo headed to the next landmark and it was Hofburg Palace. It houses the National Library, the imperial treasury, the Ethnographic Museum and many others. Slightly tired stretch of grass in the gardens of the palace. It was something new for me, but definitely others were not shy about doing it. We do not have to take the time to go and look at least treasury?!? They say it’s enough to see only the first rooms to be full of many gems and crowns which are arranged in front of you. Hunger is calling. It is time to eat. I decided to keep my tradition and dine Viennese schnitzel. Walking, we found an exceptional restaurant near the University, which offered even the lunch menu during the week. Contrary to my expectations, it was expensive, even if prices were pretty decent. But I am amazed by the amount of meat on his plate. It is indeed true that the patty must be out of your plate. This is a normal portion size – huge. If you love to eat beef – it can not help you like as long as it is properly prepared – tender and juicy. Usually served with garnish of lettuce or cucumber salad and potato salad or steamed potatoes with lots of parsley and lemon quarter. Perfect finish for me was a glass of cold beer. If you eat this dish for dinner befitting drink red wine – so say local gourmets. With full stomachs was time to spiritually enrich. The city on the Danube next two surprises that awaited us were City Hall and St. Stephen’s Cathedral. And then the very end – Sachertorte. Access to City Hall was pretty difficult because we were right at the time of their Film Festival. There were many benches and program different movies. So nice central location that is always in the center of the cultural and festive life in the city, especially at Christmas. Near City Hall are Parliament and theater. Looked up, can not you see the steeples and colorful tiles of the Gothic St. Stephen’s Cathedral – a symbol of Vienna. I wanted to see near and went. To my regret calm me break after I saw a huge crowd of people around it. It was a folly – shouts, pictures, push people … There are many beautiful carriages with horses that you can hire to tour around the city; but somehow the charm disappeared from the image before me. Indeed, the town exudes dignity and quiet, but this place was not the best – the quiet ones. I explain it as this is one of the – biggest attractions. Dali and other “top” places in town would be the same crazy?!? Ooooo, yes! Another evidence was so my target Cakes Sacher. We found her, ate some of the best – known Viennese masterpieces in the kitchen, but the price we paid was besides the material, also queue nearly 1 hour and terrible the staff of the bakery at Hotel Sacher. The pastry was exceptional, but definitely not the only place where it offered. Cakes Aida was an ideal solution in this case – a peaceful place, pleasant atmosphere, delicious cake and a good mood. I recommend! From there you can buy marzipan balls with the image of Mozart as a gift, but also the original cake “Sacher” in a wooden box. Unfortunately, it’s time to catch the subway in the opposite direction to head to our next destination – the Czech Republic. Vienna in January I felt like my place – there I was back again … There still is a lot to see: palaces Belvedere and Schonbrunn to view an opera, but never got the Ferris wheel. I was impressed by the rich cultural scene, history, architecture and urban planning. City of abundance and opportunity!
