When one sees incredible houses with pointed roofs, as in the tale of Hansel and Gretel; fortress walls and authentic city gates; small wooden bridges and cathedrals – you can’t help but guess that this is Germany. All the sights tell countless stories and everyone can touch them. Here I tell my story, but today the object will be nature and in particular Schwarzenbruck, Bavaria – „Schwarzenbruck, Bavaria, Germany.
Today is Saturday. What will we do today? – was the issue on the agenda. Unfortunately, in these times of viruses and quarantines, our opportunities for entertainment are limited. Now I spend more time with my family and we manage to have fun together. We love nature and decided that the fresh air outside and the not so cold weather invite us for a light walk in nature. And hop ! That’s how we discovered this amazing eco-trail. With an idea and a goal – there are no impossible things.
We had an amazing encounter with nature and time consuming – a walk along the historic canal of King Ludwig, combined with a tour of the impressive woodland Schwarzachklamm. The paths are flat and accessible, and the tranquility is deep and natural. The tour was about 7 km and the route is extremely easy and pleasant. The starting point was “Am Brückkanal” 3, 90537 Feucht. It can be reached by car and there is a huge parking lot. You don’t have to worry about that. And the adventure began …
We started from the incredible Ludwig–Danube–Main Canal, followed by a forest transition. There we encountered an exceptional natural idyll – the picturesque mosaic of forest, fragrant meadows covered with autumn leaves.
I felt safe, cool and calm. And do you know? I listened to the whisper of the forest, to the falling colorful autumn leaves, to the murmur of the river and the song of the wind. And it felt as if every bit of me was in tune with nature. It is unique and unpredictable. And so. The day was wonderful, filled with a lot of forest experience, autumn colorful pictures and burned calories. 🙂 When we have senses and a heart for beauty, we can’t help but discover it. There are no seasons for the beauty and power of the forest.
For those interested in history, they would be interested to see and learn more about this interesting historical landmark – the Ludwig – Danube – Maine Canal. (or the so-called Ludwig Canal or the Old Canal). The canal was opened in 1846. Shipping fought from the beginning for its economic viability, but eventually lost out to rail. Today, the historic Ludwig Canal is a popular destination only for tourism and is a historical landmark.
